Planing trees is an important step to increase biodiversity. Every year we work with local organizartions to plant trees and increase the biodiversity on the farm. The Fundación Conervacionista Costarricense, the Monteverde Institute, CIEE and other local organizations help provide native tree species that are planted to provide habitat, increase the biodiversity of our ecosystem, creating habitat, improve nutrient cycling, increasing soil conservation and creating essential biological corridors for flora and fauna, including as the Corredor Biologico Pájaro Campana, which we form part of.
Once planted, trees need maintenence and protection for several years, until they can establish themselves and become an integral part of the ecosystem. You can help with the ensure the establishment of the biological corridors, and regeneration of the ecosystem by helping to cover these maintenence costs.
